Margarita Loukachkina gave her debut at the age of sixteen at the Mishler Theatre (Pennsylvania) performing the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 with the Altoona Symphony Orchestra. After claiming first prizes at several competitions across the United States - the 2004 Nittany Valley Young Soloist Competition (State College, PA) and the 2005 Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition (Williamsport, PA), Margarita performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Nittany Valley Symphony as well as the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra where she shared concert with the legendary Davy Jones from "The Monkees".

Ms. Loukachkina is a major prizewinner of many international competitions such as the Louisiana International Piano Competition and the Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris, France. Her performances and interviews were broadcasted on the American radio stations WBJC, KTEP as well as ABC and NBC television. 

he 2017 -2018 season for Margarita includes guest artist appearances at the Sitka Summer Music Festival in Sitka, Alaska in addition to performances along the East Coast.

n 2015 Margarita and her husband, violinist Nikita Borisevich, were invited by Grammy Award Winner Zuill Bailey to be artists-in-residence at the El Paso Pro Musica Festival in Texas where they performed concerts and gave Master classes at the University of Texas at El Paso. 

native of Russia, Margarita began her studies of piano at age five with the famed Russian pedagogue - Tatyana Schklovskaya. Shortly afterwards, Margarita was accepted to continue her studies at the prestigious Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, Russia where she studied for ten years. At only sixteen, Margarita was accepted into the oldest Conservatory in America- The Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland to study with the world renown Russian pianist Alexander Shtarkman. She received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees and is currently a Doctorate of Music Degree candidate there.

argarita is the Director of Applied Music at the Garrison Forest School in addition to being on piano and theory faculty there, at the Peabody Preparatory and the McDonough School.
